Security film

Types of film: security, burglar-proof, anti-vandalism, anti-graffiti.

Situation A: So-called façade windows on the ground floor of residential buildings, places of work and shops, even if armoured, are exposed to acts of vandalism aiming to scratch or damage the glass.

Solution A: One solution is the use of suitable anti-graffiti film that can withstand the scratching action of a ceramic tip or a nail. The glass is protected by the film, the only element that needs replacing. Application of the film has no effect on the optical performance of the glass since it is virtually invisible.

Situation B: Town news is always full of reports of acts of vandalism against shop and house windows. Certain activities, such as jeweller’s shops and banks, call for high standards of protection of glazed areas, which need to be scratch-resistant and burglar-proof.

Solution B: To give ordinary glass these qualities and to enhance the features of special glass, it is necessary to use extra-thick film that has undergone a special surface hardening treatment.

This kind of glass/film system achieves a very high level of resistance to impact and breakage, with a degree of protection to UNI 9186.

Situation C: For safety reasons, various activities require glass that is extremely resistant to explosion and criminal aggression.

Modern bullet-proof and blast-mitigation film offers excellent protection, but there is still room for improvement.

Solution C: Use of polyester protection film further increases the overall standard of safety.

To hold broken shards together and increase the degree of protection, it is necessary to use polyester film designed specifically to absorb some of the energy involved.

The glass/film system can withstand the impact of high-calibre bullets, providing an added safety feature. The degree of protection is determined and certified in accordance with UNI 9187.
